COL-144 for Migraine
COL-144 represents a paradigm shift in migraine therapy. The compound is a first-in-class Neurally Acting Anti-Migraine Agent (NAAMA) designed to deliver efficacy in migraine without the vasoconstrictor activity associated with previous generations of migraine therapy. COL-144 selectively targets 5HT1F receptors expressed in the trigeminal nerve pathway.
Clinical Results
The first Phase II clinical trial with COL-144 was successfully completed in 2007 and demonstrated a dose related efficacy in the acute treatment of migraine with no drug-related cardiovascular adverse events. The 130 patient adaptive randomization trial was conducted with an intravenous formulation of COL-144 that was effective in the acute treatment of migraine and was well tolerated. Based on these exciting results the compound is being accelerated to Phase III trials as an oral formulation.
